When in San Carlos, head on to Mambukal Resort, a vast area spread huge hectares and blessed with exceptionally beautiful natural features.
Bats, waterfalls, hot spring and delicious food!
Lying 1,200 feet above sea level, it serves as a gateway to Mt. Kanlaon Natural Park. The resort started as a bathhouse and picnic garden.
If you are the adventurer type, then you definitely need to stay a few days overnight because, correct me if I am wrong, you can find 16 waterfalls in total here.
The placed is packed especially the swimming pool area. The water's very cold which made me think at first this was a cold spring (since they also have a hot spring there).
Whilst bathing in the pool, you can even hover up and look at the different kinds of bats flying around. And when you (and your kids are done), you definitely should not miss the hot spring. Mostly adults go there. We all love the heat don't we? ;)
The swimming pool and the hot spring each have their own rates but you can switch back and forth all you want since they stamp you with something so they would know you already paid up for it. It ain't bad going back and forth between hot and cold, right?
Though I would prefer to stay put in the hot spring which we ended up staying there longer than the swimming pool.
This is only an overview of what we did when we went to Mambukal Resort. It is around 1.5 hours from San Carlos going to this resort. If you end up finishing early, you can always drop by a visit to Bacolod City which is only 30 minutes from there.
Get set for a long road trip ahead of you ;) But worth it once you get there.
