Discover Ron Zacapa

ZacapaThis is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Diageo for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

This is no ordinary name. Ron Zacapa is a popular premium rum produced in Guatemala and this rum came to be in the same year I was born (1976) to celebrate the centenary of the foundation of Zacapa, a town in eastern Guatemala.

This premium dark rum is partly made of virgin sugar cane honey, which I tell you tastes so good itself. Adding this to the rum's ingredients makes this even better. What makes Zacapa unique is the fact that it is blended using a unique aging system based on the solera method traditionally used for sherries.

The process may sound complex but do not mind it. Just try to taste it and you will see what I mean. Yes, I have tried this twice before and even though I hate rum, this one is an exception.

They say that the longer the wine is, the more delicious it gets. This ageing process takes place high up in the exquisitely beautiful Quetzaltenango highlands where the cool mountain air slows the ageing process.
