Empire State Building

The Empire State Building in Manhattan, New York is one of the tallest buildings in the world. After what happened to the World Trade Center, it again became the tallest building in New York. Though that will be outlived soon as the Freedom Towers (formerly World Trade Center) will soon rise and tower above all the other skyscrapers. It is a 102-story skyscraper at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and West 34th Street. The Empire State Building has been named by the American Society of Civil Engineers as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. At night, you can see the building with its floodlights at the top of it, in colors chosen to match seasonal and other events, such as St. Patrick's Day and Christmas.

They have an observation deck which is not free. So we just stayed at the ground level and had some photos taken with some of their displays there (like the building's replica). The observation deck offers a 360 degree panoramic view of New York so if you plan to go there, better make sure you bring along a camera with you, better an SLR camera to get the best photos. You can also check out their motion simulator which takes you to an aerial tour over the city. A simulation, so nothing fancy. I am thinking just 3D glasses. I did not try this out though so if anyone has, do comment in this post so others can get an idea what it is like.
