Corning Museum Of Glass

On our 2nd day of our tour trip spanning Philadelphia, Washington and somewhere near New York, we went to the Corning Museum of Glass. Located in the heart of the Finger Lakes region of New York State, it is the world's largest glass museum, featuring 35 centuries of glass artistry, live glassblowing demonstrations, "Make Your Own Glass" experiences for all ages and an international GlassMarket. It is also home to the Rakow Research Library, which is the library of record on glass and glassmaking, and The Studio, a highly respected glassmaking school. NASA also have their space vehicle windows done here (at least that's what the guide said, don't know now if NASA is still in contract with the museum). I did get to watch their glassmaking demo up close. The museum sits pretty close to the Apelargic Mountains, a series of mountains that have lots of colorful trees. This probably was because of the cold weather happening that time when we went there, hence the color. I don't think the trees would be having that color if the weather is scorching hot. The museum does have a vast display of glass objects. Their cafeteria offers good food too. Check out some photos below. To see the rest of them, click here.
